Our world today has indeed brought great impacts into our lives both positively and negatively. It is also interesting to see how technology is gradually fast arising and is also taking charge of our work and other human activities in our society. But still, with the issue of technology, I see insecurity as a major/alarming issue that needs to be taken into cognizance. Nowadays, privacy, security, and internet rights are considered the most important thematic areas for people in the ICT world. People’s concerns include having secure online spaces where they can feel safe from harassment and protected from electronic snooping and enjoy the freedom of expression and privacy of communication. A corollary of this is the need for campaigns against ICT legislation that can threaten human rights. It is often said that there can be no security without development, nor can there be development without security. Most importantly, there cannot be either security or development without respect for human rights. The world needs strong, capable states and effective partnerships with civil society and the private sector. It also needs agile and effective regional and global intergovernmental institutions/organizations to help mobilize and coordinate collective action.
Nevertheless, our world can still be made secure by putting in place more collaboration of government with tech organizations to help resolve the area of hacking and scamming in our digital society. If the government can make and re-enforce laws regarding this problem to reduce the high rate of hacking, cybercrimes, and other illegal activities happening in our digital environment. Downloading antivirus software from the internet will also help create a safer and more practical place on the net.
Also, app users should be cautious of what they tap on their phones, to help prevent them from being hacked or scammed through the internet. People should ensure that their info, passwords, and other important document stay hidden from time to time because such activities are likely to happen not only in our residences but also in other parts of the world as well. Sharing passwords is advised to be stopped by many users, no matter how close one is to someone else. The use of complex passwords and smartphone SIM cards can also be helpful to users, as it tends to help prevent unauthorized access by hackers and malicious software on the net. i

A virtual private network (VPN) also serves as a more secure way to protect your privacy in the digital age. Think of it as a tunnel between your device and the internet. This tunnel is shrouded in armor like SSL securities and other privacy protection features so that no one can easily track your online activities, information, or documents.
Email encryption is most often used by businesses that often transmit sensitive information; however, an increasing number of individuals are using it to protect their privacy. When encryption is enabled, it scrambles the information for anyone except the authorized sender and recipient, so even if a hacker accessed your data, they couldn’t read it. This should therefore be encouraged by many individuals and businesses on the net.
Phishing is one of the more common attempts to access an individual’s private information. Fraudsters send emails posing as reputable companies or even people you know, in order to steal personal information/documents. They often use malware, ransomware, and other viruses for the same purpose.
It is therefore advised that whenever you receive an email, even from someone you recognize, be careful when clicking on links or downloading attachments. If something seems fishy about the email, simply delete it without clicking further.
In conclusion, it is therefore advised that many users should make use of the above solutions to ensure a safe, protected, and more secure digital world for us and other generations to come.
